Looking to close the gap on Los Angeles at the top of the West, LA Galaxy and a red-hot Zlatan Ibrahimovic will travel to Nippert Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another very worrying display in their 1-0 loss away at USL outfit Saint Louis earlier in the week, FC Cincinnati are enduring a sluggish first campaign in the MLS. Already sat five points adrift at the foot of the Eastern Conference, Head Coach Yoann Damet has seen his side lose 11 of their last 14 matches across all competitions, a run that stems back to the 24th of March. Unsurprisingly, it has been Cincinnati’s continued defensive issues most worrying fans around Nippert Stadium. Shipping 15 goals in just their last four MLS outings, no team in either the West or the East holds a worse attacking record than Sunday’s hosts.

As for the visitors, despite their US Open defeat in midweek, LA Galaxy remain the closest contenders to LAFC in the race to clinch the Western Conference outright this season. Winning back-to-back matches outside of California, one man who will be looking to exploit Cincinnati’s continued defensive issues will be the red-hot, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Already bagging 11 MLS strikes this season following his move from Manchester United, the 37-year-old sits second in the overall goalscoring charts and has now found the net in back-to-back appearances. Given the hosts continued struggles, we’re backing the former Sweden international to extend his goalscoring run this weekend.
