Liverpool have confirmed that Charlie Adam has completed his transfer to Premier League rivals Stoke City.

The Scotland midfielder has signed a four-year contract with Tony Pulis’ side for a fee reported to be four million pounds.

Adam, 26, failed to impress consistently at Anfield since joining from Blackpool in 2011, contributing just two goals in 37 games.

He becomes the latest player that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has shipped out after Andy Carroll completed his loan move to West Ham on Thursday, while Jay Spearing has moved to Championship side Bolton.

For Adam, the move to Stoke will be a chance to reinvigorate his career after the arrivals of Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin has forced his name down the midfield pecking order at Anfield.
