AS Roma refuse to give up on Wijnaldum

Serie A giants AS Roma have reignited their interest in signing Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum during the summer transfer window, according to Sky Italia.

Giallorossi are searching for a replacement for their key midfielder Miralem Pjanic, who joined Italian champions Juventus on Monday.

Romans are facing stiff competition for Newcastle man who is also believed to be a target for Napoli.

Partenopei have apparently lost the race to sign Piotr Zielinski and have thus set their sights on acquiring the services of Newcastle United hot-shot midfielder.

Dutch international is ready to quit Newcastle following their relegation from the Premier League, but the Magpies are not ready to lower their asking price believed to be in the region of €20 million for the 25-year-old midfielder.

Georginio Wijnaldum has made 38 appearances for Newcastle last season scoring 11 goals in the process and becoming one of the most prominent players for Rafa Benitez’s side last term.
