Aston Villa 21/20 to beat Sunderland in Tuesday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Aston Villa to beat Sunderland

Odds: 21/20 @ Bet365

On Tuesday evening, Steve Bruce’s high-flying Aston Villa side will travel to the Stadium of Light to meet a Sunderland side who know that the prospect of back-to-back relegations is becoming more likely by the week.

Although former Wales boss Chris Coleman has managed to find some stability for his struggling Black Cats, Sunderland’s boss knows that they’re still at the heart of a relegation battle and the prospect of suffering back-to-back relegations is beginning to look increasingly more likely. Despite picking up points against Middlesbrough and Millwall in their last two matches, the North West club still sit bottom of the Championship table and are already chasing down a four-point deficit.

As for the visitors on Tuesday night, Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side are looking to keep up the pace in the race to return to the top flight in English football. After slumping to a 13th place finish last season, the Villans are still regarded as one of the most established sides in the Championship and are heavy favorites to earn a playoff spot at the very least. Currently sat third in the table, Bruce’s side are coming off the back of a 4-2 win away at Sheffield Wednesday late last month and have extended their fine run of form to just one defeat in their last 10 Championship appearances.
