Bayern dismisses Neuer link

(GSM) – Bayern München have denied rumours linking them with Schalk 04 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Bayern have been linked with several goalies as they are keen for current first-choice keeper Hans-Jorg Butt to have more competition.

However, director of sport Christian Nerlinger told Spox that they are not in the market for Neuer, saying: “There is no truth in it.

“We hold Manuel Neuer in high regard, but currently Hans-Jorg Butt is our starting goalkeeper.

“We are extremely pleased with Jorg’s performances in goal and, as far as I am concerned, Manuel Neuer has a long-term deal at Schalke.”
