Bayern Munich join race for Gelson Martins

German champions Bayern Munich have joined the chase to sign Sporting CP starlet Gelson Martins, according to A Bola.

The talented winger has quickly become one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers and it remains to be seen whether the Lions can keep hold of his services.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and few other top clubs have already shown interest in his services, while recent reports suggest that Bayern Munich are keen as well.

Namely, the Bavarians plan to offload Kingsley Coman at the end of the season and they aim to replace him with Gelson Martins.

The problem is that the 21-year-old has a €60 million release clause in his current deal, while Bayern also need to beat other interested sides to his signature.

Gelson Martins has so far made just 36 league appearances for Sporting, scoring 6 goals in the process, but he definitely has a bright future in front of him.
