Manchester United winger Bebe is looking to leave the club after three years in England, with Sporting Lisbon his preferred destination.

The 22-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Vitoria Guimares, despite never making an appearance for the Portuguese club, after Alex Ferguson’s scouts recommend him as a potential star of the future.

However, he has never been able to break into the first team, making just seven appearances and scoring two goals.

Loan spells at Besiktas and Rio Ave proved uneventful for the winger, as he scored just one goal in 21 appearances, but neither club chose to make his move permanent.

Now he is hoping for a return to Portugal with Sporting Lisbon.

“I would love to play for Sporting,” he told Correio da Manha. “The club would suit me and it is an ambition of mine to play for Sporting.

“They put faith in young players (at Sporting), appreciate them, and play an attractive game that suits my style.

“It is a club that can grow. I haven’t found that in England.”
