Zulte-Waregem ensured they remained in touch with Belgian Pro League leaders Anderlecht after a 2-0 win over Waasland-Beveren on Saturday.

A goal each either side of the half for Mbaye Leye and Jonathan Delaplace proved to be the difference in what was a comfortable win at the Regenboogstadion.

Francky Dury’s men now move to 54 points, eight behind Anderlecht, with three matches left to play before the championship playoffs begin.

Elsewhere, Standard Liege strengthened their place in the playoff places after a 1-0 win against Cercle Brugge.

Imoh Ezekiel struck his 13th goal of the season early in the first half to hand his side the victory which sees them move to third on the table.

Mechelen kept their own playoff hopes alive with a 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Lierse.

An early Mads Junker goal was followed by a second half strike from Steven de Petter to seal the win and move Mechelen to seventh on the table, just two points away from a playoff berth.

In the day’s other games, Gent overcame Mons 2-0 while OH Leuven and Beerschot played out a 1-1 draw.
