Benfica eyeing Barcelona starlet

Portuguese daily newspaper Record understands that Benfica are showing interest in Barcelona youngster Jordi Mboula Queralt.

The Eagles have already snatched one Barca starlet as they signed full-back Alex Grimaldo for a nominal fee in January 2016, with the player’s price skyrocketing since.

Benfica appear to have unearthed another talent who came through the famous La Masia youth academy as they are now hot on the trail of Jordi Mboula.

The 18-year-old forward has impressed playing for Barcelona youth sides and he has 7 goals in just 4 starts in UEFA Youth League this season.

Mboula even made two appearances for Barcelona B in Segunda B, which is enough to suggest that the club officials believe he can develop into a quality footballer.

The right winger has even been compared to Lionel Messi following some scintillating performances in UEFA Youth League, so no wonder that top European sides are casting admiring glances his way.
