Besiktas have confirmed to the Turkish stock exchange that they have reached a deal to sign Kaiserslautern midfielder Olcay Sahan.
The 25-year-old moved to the Fritz Walter Stadion last year from Duisburg, but after the club’s bid to stave off relegation ultimately failed, he has been widely linked with a move.
The Turkish side confirmed on Thursday that they were in negotiations with the German outfit over Sahan’s signature, and the two clubs have now reached a deal.
Besiktas will pay Kaiserslautern 800,000 euros over two instalments for the player’s services, but 10 percent of that will go to an unspecified former club.
Sahan was born in Germany to Turkish parents, and came through the Borussia Moenchengladbach youth academy before signing for Duisburg.
He was called up to Abdullah Avci’s Turkey squad for the February friendly against Slovakia, but spent the whole match on the bench.
