The 23-year-old came through the ranks of the Barca youth academy, but left the
Catalans for Sporting Gijon in 2009.

Botia was being linked with a return to Barcelona earlier this year, but he
eventually joined Sevilla instead.

“To my knowledge, there has not been any contact between Barcelona and my
agent or between the clubs,” Botia told El Mundo Deportivo.

“Nobody from Barcelona got in touch with me personally. It would have been
very difficult to say no to them had they contacted me.

“I am no longer thinking about Barcelona, though. I’m feeling very well at
Sevilla. I’m feeling strong and things are going well.”

Botia will meet his former club on Saturday when Sevilla host Barcelona at the
Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
