Ajax coach Frank de Boer has agreed a new four-year contract with the club.
The former Netherlands international had one year left to run on his existing deal but will now stay with the Dutch outfit until June 2017.
A statement on the club’s official website confirmed: “The Executive Board of Ajax has reached a verbal agreement with head coach Frank de Boer on the extension of his contract, which ran until 30 June 2014.
“The new agreement, which takes effect 1 July 2013, has a term of four years, to 30 June 2017.”
The contract is rich reward for De Boer’s continued success at the Amsterdam Arena, with Ajax having claimed the Eredivisie crown by seven points from PSV this season to complete their third straight title win under his charge.
De Boer revealed that the decision had been a quick one, and he is now targeting more success.
He said: “I am enjoying myself and my family is happy here. I see plenty of challenges still.
“This new contract is exactly what I wanted. We were quick, because both sides are very satisfied.”
