Competition: Premier League
Market: Everton to win against Liverpool
Odds: 15/8 @ Ladbrokes

Everton come into this weekend’s clash against rivals Liverpool off the back of eight points from their last four Premier League games, and are in great shape to come out on top. The Blues have lost just once in the division this season, and picked up a brilliant win against Chelsea last month. In addition to their last home win against the champions, Roberto Martinez’s side have performed well against other top-half sides in the league, picking up points against the likes of Southampton, Tottenham and Swansea City.

Such good form will see them confident of delivering against rivals Liverpool, but they have been in this situation before without coming away with a win. The visitors picked up their first league win for weeks after beating Aston Villa, but followed up the defeat with a draw in a midweek Europa League clash. Brendan Rodgers’ men have dropped points in four of their last five league games ahead of the Everton clash, and their last away win came on the opening day of the season.

There’s just one point separating the two Merseyside clubs in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s outing, but victory for 5th-placed Everton could see them going level on points with second-placed Manchester City. Liverpool could finish the weekend in third depending on results should they beat the Toffees. However, with the Reds having conceded nine goals in their last four Premier League games, this could be Everton’s time to end a five-year wait for a Merseyside derby win.
