Premier League side Everton travel to face League One outfit Barnsley in the second round of the Capital One Cup, and are big favourites to come out on top. The Toffees have enjoyed a bright start to the new Premier League season despite last weekend‘s defeat to Manchester City, and have won their last away game ahead of this meeting.

Barnsley have started the campaign strongly too, however, winning two and drawing one of their four opening league outings, but they are likely to struggle to a side two divisions above them. Barnsley have won their only home game of the campaign, but will face a challenge locking horns to a side likely to name a number o f regular first-team players to get the job done.

Everton will take the competition seriously, with manager Roberto Martinez not wanting a premature exit tonight to boost his chances of finally getting silverware. As a result, Ladbrokes are giving odds of 8/13 for the Blues to see past their League One opposition in 90 minutes to progress into the third round.
