Everton slam £100m price tag on Lukaku

The Daily Star understands that Everton have slapped a £100m price tag on Romelu Lukaku in a bid to fend off interest from potential suitors.

The Belgium international is on the form of his life, with his strike in the win against Burnley at the weekend taking his league tally to twenty-four for the season.

A number of clubs including his former employees Chelsea have been linked with a move to secure his services but the Toffee’s are not willing to let him leave without a fight.

He has hit eight-six goals for the Merseyside club in one hundred and thirty-six appearances across all competitions and looks likely to win the Premier League Golden Boot with his nearest competitor with four strikes fewer.

Ronald Koeman’s side’s slight hopes of a top four finish were kept alive by their victory at the weekend, with a trip to West Ham United their next fixture.
