A report from the Sun is today suggesting that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could make a shock move for Queens Park Rangers winger Adel Taarabt.
The Moroccan apparently caught the eye of Ferguson and the United coaching staff with his performance in the Red Devils’ 3-1 win over QPR in the English Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Harry Redknapp had revealed that he did not want to lose Taarabt and labelled him as a ‘match winner’. However, if United come knocking it will be tough to turn them down.
The future of Nani is uncertain and he could be heading out of Old Trafford in the January transfer window and this could lead to Ferguson making a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
Also, the form of England international Ashley Young has not been up to scratch this campaign and in contrast, the 23-year-old has been one of Rangers’ best players in a tough season.
This could lead to the United boss making his move for Taarabt, especially if the form of his current attacking midfielders does not improve.
QPR are not in a position where they have to sell though, so we shall see what happens.
