Newly promoted Spanish Segunda Division outfit Granada CF have completed the signing of Ghanaian youngster Jonathan Mensah on loan from Italian side Udinese.

Accra born Mensah played three of Ghana’s five games at the 2010 World Cup and was regarded as a key member of the Black Stars squad by coach Milovan Rajevac. Reports had even linked him with a switch to Newcastle United, but Granada have won the race to sign the 20 year old.

Mensah started his career with Ashanti Gold and had a stint with Free State Stars before joining Udinese. He was also part of the Ghana squad that claimed the U-20 FIFA World Cup in 2009.
