FC Groningen moved into first place in the Dutch Eredivisie following a 3-1 home win over Feyenoord Rotterdam.

De Roover put Groningen in the lead after 21 minutes and Berg decided the clash at ten minutes from the end.

Bahía did get one back for Feyenoord in the 87th minute but, just to be sure, Berg quickly added another to restore the two-goal gap.

Groningen have ten points from four games, one point more than PSV Eindhoven and NAC Breda.

Ajax Amsterdam needed an hour to break the deadlock versus Vitesse, but did eventually win convincingly.

Uruguayan Luis Suarez netted the opening goal, and the remaining two came from Belgian Vertonghen. The Amsterdam outfit are now sixth in the league at three points from the leaders.
