Barcelona’s star midfielder Andres Iniesta insists he has no intention of leaving the Nou Camp and says he wishes to see his career out at the club, Talk Sport are today reporting.
There had been reports that English Premier League champions Manchester City were keen on signing the Spanish international, but he is thought to not be interested in a move to the Etihad Stadium.
Iniesta has won a huge array of trophies at Barcelona and sees no reason to leave as long as his performances stay at the same level.
He has said: “I do not know if I’d ever move to another club. I would like to end my career with Barca.
“It depends on my performance on the field, if it’s good I’ll be at the club a long time, I hope.”
He is certainly rated as one of the best players in the world right now is one of the key men to Lionel Messi’s success over recent years.
Iniesta is so often the provider for Messi and is loved by everyone at the La Liga giants. There is always a chance of course that his performances will dip or someone like Manchester City will come in with an offer that is too good to turn down.
However, for now, it looks as though Iniesta will be at the Nou Camp for a while yet.
