Portuguese media outlet A Bola claims that Joao Moutinho is nearing a return to Estadio do Dragao.
The 29-year-old left the Dragons for Monaco three years ago, but with a big club move having eluded him, the highly rated midfielder may be ready to return to FC Porto.
The Dragons are keen on re-signing their former player, and the latest reports suggest Monaco are ready to let him leave.
Moutinho’s €3.7 million yearly wage is proving too much for the Principality club, meaning they are ready to consider serious offers for the Portugal international.
Said salary is likely to be an issue for Porto as well, but the Dragons hope the player will lower his demands to facilitate a return to Estadio do Dragao.
Moutinho is expected to play an important role for Portugal at the Euro 2016 finals, where the Selecao are 22/1 shot to be crowned champions.
