(GSM) – Real Madrid’s dream of lifting this season’s Champions League trophy at their Santiago Bernabeu stadium was shattered on Wednesday when Olympique Lyon eliminated them at the last 16 stage.

After the defeat, Kaka asked the fans for forgiveness.

“It is a very hard blow for Real Madrid,” Kaka told Marca.

“The only thing we can do is ask the fans for forgiveness. We all wanted to play the final in the Bernabeu, and we could not achieve it.

“I have overcome many difficult moments in my career. We are going to get past this one together.

“We created a lot of chances to score, but did not take them.

“In the Champions League, this will cost you.”

Kaka then talked about his controversial substitution, continuing, “I did not like the situation of the game.”

“I was not angry about the change, but the scoreline.

“I was replaced by Raul, who has a lot of experience in scoring.”

Well, what I really have to say that when Real Madrid will realize that “Galacticos” just do not work, and will never work. Having too many stars on the team will kill the chemistry of the team, and will instead pretrude selfish play (which wont work even if you have the best strikers and midfielders in the galaxy) They need to understand that football is a team sport and building the team focusing on the chemistry and on specific roles (which Madrid slightly lacks) is the way to. We can see many examples of those teams (e.g. Chelsea FC, Man Utd FC, Barcelona FC…) In my opinion just having a huge pocket does not mean succes (e.g. Manchester City) Also, having a B-list coach does not help. They need coaches to manage the team like Capello did, they need Mourinho badly – but I guess he’s waiting Sir Alex to leave so he could manage Man Utd and he is now doing a damn good job at Internazionale.

all the comments towards Real Madrid are well deserved i love madrid but its time they wake up get a proper coach stop finding coaches who are somewhat good and get a real GOOD coach and please get rid of these old players like guti, raul, diarra, who serve no purpose they sold raul and kept guti they sold snijder and robben and kept raul and gago they sold negredo for what makes no sense what so ever now look at the mess we were in only 3 strikers well 2 cause raul is a waste of time so we deserve to get blown out by teams who are fairly ok not even good in my books real are their own worst enemies they are selfish players i thought ronaldo would have been but hes not now higuain starts up by trowing away the game how foolish is he first u win the game then u play for yourself wow how foolish is that im sick so bad for what madrid trew away on wednesday
