Lavezzi set for new PSG deal; Jonas linked with Portugal switch

hot-transfer-newsLavezzi set for new PSG deal

Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is about to pledge his future to Paris Saint-Germain, Le 10 Sport has learned.

The highly rated footballer was heavily linked with a summer exit as the Saints hoped to cash in on him and use the funds for an assault on Angel Di Maria, but he ultimately remained at Parc des Princes.

In spite of the heavy interest in his services, Inter Milan were the only side to come forward with an official proposal, but they failed to meet PSG’s asking price.

As a result, Lavezzi looks set for a prolonged stay in Paris and the latest reports suggest he will be offered a new long-term deal.

With his current contract due to expire in two years’ time, the club officials plan to open talks over a contract extension in the next few weeks.

According to Le 10 Sport, Lavezzi is ready to pledge his long-term future to the Saints, which should finally end speculations regarding his future.

Jonas linked with Portugal switch

Brazilian forward Jonas is being linked with a move to Portuguese Primeira Liga, according to O Jogo.

Having rescinded his contract with Valencia few days ago, the highly rated footballer is free to move outside the transfer window and he reportedly has a plethora of offers from Brazil, Portugal, Turkey, Spain and several Middle East countries.

The player’s representative has suggested that his client will evaluate the proposals and make a decision on his future in the coming days.

O Jogo understands that Benfica remain keen on the 30-year-old footballer and they could make a move having failed to sign Joel Campbell from Arsenal.

Jonas has spent last three and a half years at Mestalla, and has a decent return of 36 goals in 113 La Liga outings.

Many were surprised to see Valencia officials place him on the transfer list, and it appears the attacker will have no problems finding a new club.

Palermo sign Joao Silva

Italian Serie A outfit Palermo have announced on their official website that they have signed Portuguese attacker Joao Silva from Bari.

The newly-promoted side could only complete the paperwork for the deal some 33 seconds after the 23.00 deadline on Monday and it was believed they would not be allowed to register the player.

However, their appeal with the Italian League has been successful, allowing them to sign the 24-year-old forward.

“U.S. Citta di Palermo can announce that we have acquired Joao Silva from Bari. The player moves on a permanent transfer and signed a three-year contract with the club,” read the statement on club’s official website.

The Rosanero made a move on the Portuguese attacker after selling Abel Hernandez to Hull City, and they eventually managed to acquire his services.

Joao Silva, who also enjoyed spells with Desportivo Aves, Everton, Uniao Leiria, Vitoria Setubal and Levski Sofia, made 43 league appearances for Bari last term, scoring 8 goals in the process.
