Chelsea defender David Luiz says he is flattered to be linked with a move to Barcelona but will continue to focus on his form at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil international has reportedly caught the eye of the La Liga leaders and admitted that any interest would be ‘a source of pride’.
The 25-million euro signing from Benfica is content to focus on his efforts at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m happy that a club such as Barcelona is interested in me,” Luiz told The Sun. “They’re a team of winners and their interest is a source of pride for me.
“I’m a Chelsea player for now. I work hard every day to make people appreciate what I do. I try to do my job in the best way possible, wherever I am.”
Luiz has often operated in midfield under Rafael Benitez and despite Chelsea’s indifferent form since his arrival, Benitez said he has had a positive impact on the squad.
“My job is to try to win and improve players,” Benitez told reporters. “Gary Cahill has improved a lot with his movement and understanding of the game.
“I said Cesar Azpilicueta would get in the Spain team and Victor Moses won the player of the tournament in the Africa Nations Cup. That makes you very proud.”
