Macclesfield handed home FA Cup draw

Macclesfield Town’s reward for beating Swindon Town in the first round of the FA Cup is a home clash with Gillingham or Brackley Town.

Steve King’s side were 4-0 victors against the League One outfit on Saturday and will host either league rivals Gillingham or Conference North side Brackley at Moss Rose in the next round.

Eighth-tier Shortwood, the lowest ranked side left in the competition, will take on Conference National club Salisbury City, provided they get past their first-round tie with Port Vale, while League Two leaders Leyton Orient will host Walsall.

Former winners of the competition Coventry City and Preston North End both face away fixtures, against Wycombe Wanderers or Crewe Alexandra and Hartlepool United respectively.

Conference side Tamworth will host Bristol City, while either Bury or Conference National leaders Cambridge United will take on Sheffield United at home.

Stevenage, who knocked out former winners Portsmouth 2-1 on Saturday, will take on Stourbridge, with Conference outfit Welling United travelling to either Lincoln City or Plymouth Argyle.
