Mamadou Sakho set for Liverpool exit

French media outlet L’Equipe has suggested that defender Mamadou Sakho is set to leave Liverpool in the January transfer window.

A first team regular in Jurgen Klopp’s first season in charge, the Frenchman has since fallen from grace and he is now completely out of the German’s plans following several breaches of club discipline.

Sakho has failed to make a single senior appearance for the Reds this season and he instead played for the reserves in matches against Manchester United and Everton.

This is enough to suggest that Liverpool will be looking to offload the 26-year-old in the winter transfer window and there should be no shortage of offers for the France international.

Even if he didn’t exactly manage to prove his worth at Anfield, Sakho remains regarded as one of Europe’s leading centre-backs and there should be quite a few top clubs ready to offer him an escape route from Merseyside.
