Man City want Joao Cancelo

Premier League giants Manchester City are hot on the trail of Valencia starlet Joao Cancelo, according to Superdeporte.

The Citizens aim to rejuvenate their back line and have identified the Portuguese footballer as a perfect long-term replacement for Pablo Zabaleta.

Chances are that Bacary Sagna will be offloaded either in January or at the end of the season, thus creating space for the arrival of Cancelo.

The 21-year-old was only signed by Valencia on permanent basis back in May, with los Che splashing out €15 million on his services.

And the latest reports suggest he will not be available for less than €30 million, although Manchester City clearly have no problems paying top dollar for their hot targets.

Joao Cancelo, who had only made one league appearance for Benfica before moving to Mestalla, has started four La Liga games this term, helping his side keep three clean sheets in those matches.
