Man Utd join race for Raphael Varane

Le 10 Sport has learned that Manchester United are the latest high-profile side to have shown interest in Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

The highly rated footballer may decide to leave los Blancos in search of first team football and several top clubs have taken notice.

After Bayern emerged as one of the main candidates for his signature, Manchester United appear to be in the mix as well.

Former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is widely expected to be confirmed as the new Red Devils manager at the end of the season and he reportedly wants to be reunited with Raphael Varane at Old Trafford.

The France international has been playing second fiddle to Pepe and Sergio Ramos for several years now and it appears he is growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of first team action.

Real Madrid set up a Champions League final date with local rivals Atletico as they defeated Manchester City last night and they are now 8/11 favourites to lift the trophy.
