Manchester City lining up move for Argentinian ace

Manchester City are understood to be interested in Espanyol defender Pablo Zabaleta. Zabaleta recently announced that he is keen to play in England or Italy, and City are the first to show interest.

Reports in Spain say that Espanyol met with Zabaleta’s agents this week, and set a deadline of August 1st to find an offer for the player.

Zabaleta, 23, can play either right-back or right midfield, and has been capped by Argentina 4 times. Espanyol are believed to want as much as £15 million for Zabaleta, who has caught the eye of many clubs this season.

Director Paco Herrare told the Spanish press “There are many rumours about our player, but we have not recieved any offers”.
