Manchester United keen on Coentrao; PSG to bid for Lacazette

hot-transfer-newsManchester United keen on Coentrao

Daily Express is reporting that Manchester United are pondering a January bid for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao.

The Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal plans to sign a high-profile left-back in addition to adding a centre-back or two this winter and the Portugal international appear to be high on his wish list.

According to Daily Express, the Dutch coach plans to use Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao to try and convince Coentrao to join them at Old Trafford.

Namely, the three players all share the same agent and with the 26-year-old still playing second fiddle to Marcelo at Santiago Bernabeu, he is likely to be tempted by the prospect of joining the Red Devils.

Fabio Coentrao was on the verge of moving to Old Trafford a year ago, but the season-long loan deal fell through at the last minute.

The highly rated defender is now set to get a second chance to sign for Manchester United, and Real Madrid are not expected to stand in his way.

PSG to bid for Lacazette

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Lyon starlet Alexandre Lacazette, Le 10 Sport can reveal.

The Saints attempted to sign the striker in the summer transfer window and they are set to launch a fresh assault in January.

Seeing as how Edinson Cavani is being linked with a move away from Parc des Princes, PSG seem to have elected Lacazette as a perfect replacement.

The fact he should be available for some €15m to €20m is an added bonus given that the club need to have FIFA Financial Fair Play rules in mind.

While he prefers playing as a centre forward, Lacazette can be just as effective operating on either wing, which makes him a perfect fit for Laurent Blanc’s 4-3-3 formation.

The Lyon graduate has been capped three times by France and he has been especially impressive over the last year or so, scoring 19 goals in last 44 league outings.

Chelsea and PSV vying for Matheus

Dutch media outlet Voetbal International has learned that Cheslea and PSV Eindhoven are keeping close tabs on Corinthians youngster Matheus Pereira da Siva.

The talented midfielder produced some very good performances at last year’s Canon Lion City Cup in Singapore, catching the eye of the European giants in the process.

PSV Eindhoven have now invited the 16-year-old for a two-week trial and they plan to recruit the midfielder as soon as possible, provided he can secure an EU passport.

However, the Dutch giants are likely to face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are closely monitoring the situation.

Matheus Pereira has yet to be handed his senior debut at Corinthians, but his showings for club’s youth sides are enough to suggest the youngster has a great future ahead of him.

PSV Eindhoven and Chelsea obviously hope they can recruit the player before he signs the first professional contract in Brazil.
