Nicolas Gaitan set for China switch

Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan is set to join Dalian Yifang, Argentine media outlet TyC Sports can reveal.

Having failed to impress at Wanda Metropolitano, the former Benfica hotshot was given permission to leave and he has finally found a new club.

According to TyC Sports, Gaitan will join Dalian Yifang in an €18 million deal before the transfer window in China shuts on Wednesday.

The Argentine will sign a three-year contract with the Chinese side subject to passing a medical, and he was left out of the squad for the La Liga game against Sevilla yesterday after the two clubs had reached an agreement.

Gaitan utterly failed to prove his worth at Atletico Madrid, having registered mere 3 goals in 29 La Liga outings.
