He may have spent time training with the club recently, but Didier Drogba reportedly won’t be making a return to Chelsea.

Reports in Italy suggest the 34-year-old is set for a loan move to Juventus in January instead, to take him away from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

The Italian champions are apparently on the look out for a front man as they look to retain their domestic title as well as challenging in the Champions League.

With the domestic season in China now over, Drogba’s only upcoming competitive football is set to be at the Africa Cup of Nations in Janaury.

If he does move to Turin then Juve will apparently have to offer the forward a huge salary, with Drogba earning around 200 thousand pounds a week on his current deal in China.

That could prove to be a major stumbling block, with goal.com understanding that the Italian side a reluctant to meet Drogba’s contract demands.
