A report from Talk Sport is today suggesting that Norwich City have emerged as the favourites to secure the services of Celtic front-man Gary Hooper in this January transfer window.
Canaries’ boss Chris Hughton was spotted at Celtic Park on Tuesday afternoon as he watched Hooper score a last minute winner in the Scottish Premier League encounter against Motherwell, and he could now make his move for him this month.
Hughton is keen to add to his attacking options, with Grant Holt and Robert Snodgrass the current leading scorers with just four goals.
Hooper has been prolific in his time with the Scottish champions, but reports have suggested that he would like to have a crack at the English Premier League and Norwich could be about to offer him that.
However, Celtic have of course made it through to the last 16 of the Champions League and the former Scunthorpe man knows that he might not ever get the chance to play in this stage of the compeition again, so he certainly has a big decision to make.
Norwich might also have to do battle with Stoke City and Sunderland, who also seen keen on landing Gary Hooper.
We shall see what happens in the next few weeks.
