(GSM) – Olympiakos and PAOK distanced themselves in the Greek Champions League play-off on Sunday with victories over AEK and Aris, respectively.

Olympiakos are top on seven points – ahead of PAOK on goal difference – after beating AEK, 2-1.

Veteran Swedish defender Olof Mellberg fired Olympiakos in front in the 10th minute, but AEK pulled level from the penalty spot 12 minutes later when Rafik Djebbour converted after Marcin Zewlakow’s foul.

But Enzo Maresca restored the Olympiakos lead in the 42nd minute, and the home side never relented.

Meanwhile, in the Salonika derby, it was PAOK’s Vladimir Ivic bagging the opener in the 26th minute as the home side took control at Stadio Toumbas.

Then, just 12 minutes later, Mirko Savini made it 2-0 when he fired past Michalis Sifakis in the Aris goal.

PAOK are three better than Olympiakos on goal difference ahead of Wednesday’s showdown between the two clubs.
