Liverpool attacker Divock Origi has made it clear he is not contemplating leaving Anfield in the January transfer window, but wants to fight for his place instead.
The Belgium international, 21, has been struggling to secure regular first-team action this campaign and has yet to start in the Premier League in 2016-17.
Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about his chances of winning over Jurgen Klopp.
“I want to play more, but the team is winning and you don’t change a winning team,” Origi told La Derniere Heure.
“And we only play one game per week because we are not in Europe. But I remain confident.
“A transfer is not an option for me. I have told myself that I want to fight for my place in the team. I know that it will not be easy, but I will do everything within my powers.
“I am not asking myself too many questions, but I am just focusing on playing football. I work hard and I am convinced that will pay off. I am the type of person who gets stronger in difficult moments. I have to remain patient.”
