Palermo complete the signing of Manuel Arteaga

Serie A outfit Palermo have agreed a deal to sign striker Manuel Arteaga from Zulia FC, the Venezuelan club have revealed.

The Venezuelan side made the announcement on their official website earlier today, but the cost of the transfer was not disclosed.

Arteaga has agreed a four and a half year deal with the Serie A club and will be available for selection from 27 December.

The 21-year-old had come close to tasting the top flight action in Italy during his loan spell with Parma, but he did not make a single appearance for the club.

He has since shown some promise at Deportivo Anzoategui before enjoying a breakthrough season with Zulia FC, during which he bagged 17 goals in 21 league outings.

The talented forward, who currently has 3 Venezuela caps to his name, has now secured a lucrative move to Palermo, although it remains to be seen whether he will stay with the Rosanero or be loaned out in January.
