Lazio head coach Vladimir Petkovic is confident his side will bounce back against Torino after losing 2-0 away to Fiorentina on Sunday.
The defeat saw Lazio drop to fourth on the Serie A table with Inter Milan moving into third.
Petkovic believes his team can recover at home against Torino on Wednesday despite having Hernanes, Ederson, Claudio Ledesma and Federico Marchetti unavailable through injury and suspension.
Petkovic has called on the rest of his squad to step up and has argued a team effort should make up the individual strengths of the absent quartet.
“We’ll definitely see a different Lazio tomorrow on the pitch because we need to use other weapons,” Petkovic said on Tuesday.
“We’re missing some individually talented players and we need to compensate this by working well as a group and remaining close and ready to use any possible chance when we attack, we will definitely need to be more offensive.”
Torino are 13th in Serie A and have not won in three matches and Petkovic believes making a strong start will be key to success.
“We need to be good at not leaving any space for Torino, be good at not giving them any chances,” Petkovic said.
“In particular we need to react better to mistakes, not like we did in the first half an hour in Florence, where we let them be even more aggressive.
“We need to press and manage the game well.
“It’s all up to us, we need to stop the opponent and lead, while having great respect for Torino who can play with various systems of play depending on who they are playing.”
