Arsenal earned a convincing 3-0 win over Villarreal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter finals, and secured a spot in the semi finals.

Pressure was on Villarreal to attack, as Arsenal took along an away goal advantage following last week’s 1-1 draw in Spain.

But things didn’t go as planned for Villarreal as Arsenal opened the score after just 10 minutes. A back-heel from Cesc Fabregas left the opposing defense confused and allowed Theo Walcott to chip into the far corner for 1-0.

And the Gunners added a second on the hour mark. Robin van Persie found Emmanuel Adebayor in the penalty area and the latter put it home from ten meters.

A spot in the semi finals was practically secured eight minutes later when Diego Godin fouled Theo Walcott in the penalty area. Sebastian Eguren received a second booking for protesting and Robin van Persie converted the spot kick for 3-0.
