AS Roma ‘keeper Julio Sergio has been sidelined for around a month after sustaining ligament damage in his right ankle, the Serie A club said Thursday.

Sergio picked up the injury in a clash with Brescia’s Brazilian forward Eder. It proved a particularly painful experience for the keeper, who had to stay on the pitch, in tears, as his side had already used three substitutes.

Roma then went on to lose the match 2-1.

Claudio Ranieri’s Roma side have two matches in four days. They host Inter Milan at the Olympic stadium on Saturday then host Romanian side Cluj on Tuesday in the Champions League.
