Torino to sign Ukrainian defender

French daily newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Torino are set to complete the signing of Ukrainian centre-back Vasyl Pryima.

Granata have seen a number of important defenders join the infirmary since the season started, with Bruno Peres, Nikola Maksimovic and Pontus Jansson all unavailable at the moment.

As a result, they have decided to explore the free agent market and are now closing in on the signature of Vasyl Pryima.

The 24-year-old has been without a club since leaving Metalurg Donetsk earlier this summer, and he was close to joining Dnipro just few weeks ago.

However, he has now agreed a move to Torino and is already in Italy to undergo medical examination.

Pryima spent his entire career up to date at Metalurg Donetsk, making 123 league outings and scoring 4 goals, while he represented Ukraine at various youth levels, albeit never earning a call up to the senior national team.
