Talk Sport is today reporting that Manchester United could once again make an offer to sign Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder in the January transfer window.
Sneijder’s deal at the San Siro does runs until 2015, but the Red Devils have been put on red alert after reports suggest that he is not overly happy in Italy right now.
The Dutch international has not been starting matches in the Serie A, despite returning to full fitness after a groin strain – and now his future is coming under some doubt.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long time admirer of the playmaker and he did try to bring him to Old Trafford back in 2010, but a deal never materialised.
Inter may be happy for the 28-year-old to head to the English Premier League as well as he is one of the highest earners at the club and they are desperate to lower their wage bill.
Saying that, it would still take a substantial offer from United to secure his services, but it does seem as though a deal is certainly possible.
It is certainly a fascinating story to keep an eye on and the January transfer window gets closer.
