Valencia agree to sign Andres Guardado

Valencia have agreed to sign Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Andres Guardado, according to Cadena Ser.

The 25-year-old has one year left on his deal with the Segunda outfit and he has opted against extending his contract.

The Mexico international wants to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season and, according to Cadena Ser, he has already reached an agreement with Valencia.

Los Che have reportedly agreed to sign Guardado when his contract expires in June, with the deal set to be announced in the coming days.

Guardado was tipped as one of the biggest prospects in world football when he arrived to Riazor in 2007, but numerous injuries prevented the player from showing his full potential.

Valencia boss Unai Emery, however, believes that Guardado still has a lot to offer, with the Mexican expected to vie with Pablo Piatti for the left wing position at Mestalla.
