Valencia defender Antonio Barragan says the team’s away performances have been their Achilles heel this season.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s men have lost four out of their last five games on the road, but the 25-year-old believes a turn in fortunes is just around the corner.

“Our poor results away from home are costing us too many points, but we will work hard and we will break the bad run against Valladolid with enthusiasm and desire,” Barragan said at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s round of La Liga matches.

“People can try to predict what will happen in Valladolid, but we are calm and we will go there to win.”

The Spaniard will be travelling to the Estadio Jose Zorrilla with fond memories after spending two years at the club before joining his current side.

“It will be a special game. I was trained by Miroslav Djukic, he treated me really well and I have only nice things to say about him,” Barragan added.

“He is a very vocal coach, he talks a lot, he is hard working and is always trying to get his teams to keep a lot of possession.”
