Spanish media outlet Superdeporte understands that Valencia are set to submit an official proposal for Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic.
New los Che boss Cesare Prandelli seems determined to recruit a high-quality centre forward in the January transfer window and the Croatia international has emerged as his top target.
Having spent several years as as head coach at Artemio Franchi, the Italian tactician is well aware of Kalinic’s qualities and he will attempt to bring him to Mestalla at the earliest opportunity.
And even though Fiorentina are not keen on selling their prized possession, Valencia hope a big money proposal will do the trick.
Nikola Kalinic has done better than expected since joining Viola from Dnipro, having scored 18 goals in 51 Serie A outings.
He has also been mentioned as a target for Napoli, who will offload Manolo Gabbiadni and recruit a new centre forward in the January window.
