Barcelona attacker David Villa says he has left his recent injury problems behind him and is feeling in top shape again after a difficult period.
The Spain international broke his leg at the Club World Cup in December 2011, and had been struggling to rediscover his old form.
Nevertheless, Villa has put in a number of impressive displays in recent weeks, and he is happy to have overcome his difficulties at last.
“Physically, I’m at my best – I’ve got over all those little problems that were bothering me and I’m happy to be feeling fine again,” the attacker told Barca TV.
“I’ve been working hard for quite a while to overcome my difficulties and I’m pleased to get to this stage of the season, scoring goals and getting plenty of game time.”
The 31-year-old has netted eight goals in 20 La Liga appearances so far this term.
