After enjoying an impressive run of form in pre-season, The Yellow Submarine will be looking to get off to a winning start when they welcome Real Sociedad to Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday.

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, after once again securing European football last year, Javier Calleja’s Villarreal side will be looking for another impressive campaign in La Liga. Coming off the back of a 3-2 win over Bundesliga side Weder Bremen in their final pre-season outing, aside from a 2-1 loss to Wolves, Villarreal are unbeaten in their previous nine appearances. One man to watch for The Yellows will be Columbian international Carlos Bacca. The 32-year-old was the hosts talisman last year and found the net 15 times in Spain last time out.

As for Asier Garitano’s Real Sociedad side, after enduring a difficult year last season that saw them fail to secure a top half finish in La Liga, it has been another disappointing pre-season campaign for The White and Blues. Coming off the back of a hrad fought 1-1 draw with Freiburg, where they were outplayed for large spells of the game, Socided are now without a win in their last five and have lost four of those outings. On paper, this could be a tricky opener for Garitano.
