13th June: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 10/1

With Europe’s top tiers starting to make their return to action this week, we’re getting set for what promises to be a standout weekend from across the continent. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday Acca, we have searched far and wide to find you a few noteworthy tips.

Saturday 13th June

BST 14:30 Koln vs Union Berlin

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, left devastated to have thrown away their late lead at Augsburg last weekend and having to settle for a single point, Koln find themselves in the midst of an extended rut since returning from the break. Including opening June with a 4-2 drumming at home against Champions League chasers RB Leipzig, the Billy Goats have now failed to win any of their last six Bundesliga appearances and have sacrificed their spot in the top half. While Markus Gisdol’s men might be enduring their worst defensive run of the season so far, there is no doubt that Koln will be glad to see Anthony Modeste extend on his recent purple patch last time out. Although leading marksman Jhon Córdoba might be stealing all the headlines at the RheinEnergieStadion, the 32-year-old has found the net in three of his last four Bundesliga outings, including back-to-back strikes on home soil. With Saturday’s guests showing their own worrying issues at the back and in the midst of a real baron run, there is no doubt that Modeste should be relishing a golden opportunity this weekend. Crashing back down to earth after a stellar start to their debut Bundesliga campaign, Union Berlin have failed to win any of their last eight matches across all competitions and are suddenly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. More worrying for the Reds, losing each of their last four consecutive matches on the road, including back-to-back 4-1 and 4-0 drummings against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha Berlin, Union have now conceded at least a trio of strikes in each of their previous four away day defeats.

Tip: Anthony Modeste to score anytime @ 7/5

18:30 Leganes vs Real Valladolid

Making their return from the enforced break this weekend, Leganes simply have their sights set on mounting a late charge for La Liga safety. Opening Saturday’s contest sat three points adrift of safety, there is no doubt that Javier Aguirre’s side will be confident of building off of an eye-catching display prior to the enforced break. Led by leading marksman Oscar Rodriguez who bagged a brace, Los Pepineros came from behind to snatch what could be a crucial 2-1 win away at Villarreal. With many in their camp believing that they were enjoying their brightest patch prior to the break, Leganes have lost just a pair of their previous seven La Liga appearances, a run that has seen them snatch points off of both Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad. Undoubtedly saving their best performances for home soil this season, a campaign that was highlighted by a glittering 2-1 win against Champions League chasers Sociedad back in February, Aguirre will also be boosted by what is a stellar record against Saturday’s guests. Including picking up a 1-0 win when they last welcomed Real Valladolid to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, Leganes are unbeaten in each of their last five contests against Pucela, winning four of those meetings. Entering the enforced break with a 4-1 drumming against Athletic Club, Sergio González’s strugglers have lost three of their previous four La Liga appearances and have continued to struggle this year with their issues on the road. Including crashing out of the Cope del Rey against lower league Tenerife, Valladolid have also lost three of their last four matchups away from the José Zorrilla.

Tip: Leganes win @ 13/10

20:30 Real Zaragoza vs Alcorcón

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, entering the enforced break with a deserved 1-0 win away at Málaga and enjoying what was an extended purple patch, Real Zaragoza will be looking to carry on from where they left off in March. Marking their return this weekend holding a five-point buffer in that lucrative second-spot and inching closer to a La Liga return, Head Coach Víctor Fernández sees his side in the midst of a 10-match unbeaten run in Spain’s second-tier. Led by leading marksman and Real Valladolid loanee Luis Suarez who has recorded 17 Segunda strikes this season, Zaragoza had previously gained a reputation for their eye-catching displays on home soil. Including what was a thumping performance in their 3-1 romp against Deportivo La Coruña, Saturday’s hosts have collected 13 points over their last five matchups at the Estadio de la Romareda, scoring at least a pair of goals in all bar one of those meetings. On the flip side, while Fernández’s title-chasers might have entered the break enjoying a real purple patch, away day specialists Alcorcón also have their sights set on mounting a late play-off charge. Opening the weekend sat just five points adrift of breaking into the top-six, the Yellows should be boosted by their most recent performances on the road. Picking up the win away at Fuenlabrada in what was a seven-goal thriller, the Potters have landed back-to-back wins on their travels and have remarkably not lost a single Segunda contest away from the Estadio Santo Domingo this season.
