14th November: Thursday’s EURO 2020 Qualifying Accumulator – 6/1

With the race for EURO 2020 qualification reaching the final stages, teams from across Europe will look to book a ticket to next year’s finals when they meet on Thursday. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Thursday 14th November

BST 17:00 Turkey vs Iceland:

Battling from behind to snatch a point away in France last month, Turkey’s stellar resurge has continued to send shockwaves across Europe. Still sat at the top of Group H, Thursday’s hosts know that another victory in midweek will secure their spot at next year’s European Championships. The Reds have now lost just one of last six qualifying matchups and have tasted defeat just once since November 2018. There is no doubt that the mood in Şenol Güneş’ camp only continues to soar. A huge part of Turkey’s recent revival has come thanks to their continued performances in Istanbul. Including landing a famous 2-0 win over Les Bleus on home soil back in June, they have won each of their three Group H matches on home soil and have also recorded six straight wins in front of their own supporters. Even more impressive, Turkey have recorded four straight clean sheets in Istanbul and have conceded just one goal at home in their last seven appearances. While the Reds might have one foot at EURO 2020, Iceland are searching for a minor miracle. Chasing down a four-point deficit to Turkey and France with two matches remaining, they have famously struggled in their matchups on foreign soil. Suffering back-to-back defeats on the road and shipping a quartet of goals in those defeats, we’re backing a high-flying Turkey to come out on top in midweek.

Tip: Turkey win and under 4.5 goals @ 1/1

19:45 19:45 England vs Montenegro

Picking up a 6-0 win away in Bulgaria amidst a string of off-field issues last month, England have bounced back from their shock defeat against the Czech Republic and Gareth Southgate’s side have all but confirmed their spot as Group A winners. Still boosted by their bronze medal finish in the inaugural Nations League, Thursday’s hosts have continued to gain a reputation for their free-scoring antics and one man to watch out for at Wembley will be the red-hot Marcus Rashford. Once again finding the net against Brighton on Premier League duties over the weekend, the 22-year-old has now recorded seven goals in his last eight matches for club and country, including finding the net out in Bulgaria last month. Given Montenegro’s continued issues during qualifying, the Manchester United ace should be confident of extending his recent purple patch on Thursday night. Suffering a 2-0 defeat out in Kosovo in their last Group A appearance, they are yet to record a single victory in any of their seven qualification outings, including a 5-1 hammering at the hands of England in Podgorica back in March.

Tip: Marcus Rashford to score anytime @ 4/5

19:45 Serbia vs Luxembourg

Starting with hosts, chasing down a one-point deficit to Portugal in the race to secure that lucrative second spot in Group B with two matchups remaining, Serbia will know that Thursday’s contest is a must-win encounter. Landing three wins across all competitions, including back-to-back qualifying victories, Ljubiša Tumbaković’s men will also be boosted by their 3-1 win over Luxembourg on foreign soil back in September. One man who has continued to spearhead the Eagles’ EURO 2020 charge is leading marksman and attacking talisman, Aleksandar Mitrovic. Bagging the winner in Fulham’s 1-0 victory over Birmingham prior to the international break, the 25-year-old already has 12 Championship goals to his name and leads the race to clinch the Golden Boot. Continuing to shine while away on international duty, it should also be noted that Mitrovic has scored five goals in his last three qualifying appearances, including a brace against Luxembourg. Suffering a 4-0 hammering against Denmark last month, it really has been a woeful eight months for Thursday’s guests. Now losing each of their last five matches across all formats, the Group B strugglers have also shipped at least a trio of strikes in each of their last three matches on the bounce.

Tip: Serbia to score over 2.5 goals & Aleksandar Mitrovic to score anytime @ 6/5
