16th November: Saturday’s National League Accumulator – 9/1

With England’s National League taking center stage thanks to the international break, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Saturday acca:

Saturday 16th November

BST 15:00 Torquay vs Sutton

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, despite crashing out of the FA Cup away at Maidstone last weekend, it has been a stellar National League run for Torquay. Climbing back into the play-offs and handed the chance to jump to the top of the table, Gary Johnson’s men have won each of their last three fifth-tier appearances and the former Yeovil boss has also seen his men win seven of their last nine matchups across all formats. With the mood in Devon the highest it has been in recent memory, a huge part of their continued resurge has come thanks to some lethal showings in the final third. Putting four past fellow promotion hopefuls Barrow and Halifax over the past month, Torquay have scored nine goals on their three-match National League winning run and it should also be noted that they hold the best-attacking record in the division. On the flip side, while Saturday’s hosts might be enjoying an extended purle patch, the same can not be said for a struggling Sutton. Suffering a 1-0 loss away at Barrow last weekend, Paul Doswell’s men are in the midst of a four-match losing run and are already sat four points adrift of safety. Also enduring a four-match losing run outside of Surrey, Saturday could prove to be another long afternoon for the U’s.

Tip: Torquay win and over 1.5 goals @ 20/21

15:00 Chesterfield vs Chorley

Battling from behind to snatch a point away at Ebbsfleet last weekend, Chesterfield should see Saturday as a golden opportunity to widen their buffer over the drop zone. Finding a route out of the bottom-three and with the mood in Derbyshire arguably the highest it has been this year, John Sheridan’s men have now won three of their last four National League appearances and have not tasted defeat since the 5th of October. A huge part of their recent rise over the past two months has come thanks to their continued success at the Proact Stadium. Landing a 1-0 win over play-off contenders Notts County in their last appearance on home soil, Chesterfield have won three of their last four matches in front of their own supporters and another victory this weekend could see them widen their gap over the drop zone to six points. While Sheridan’s side might be enjoying an extended purple patch, the same can not be said for a Chorley side that are universally seen to be the leading contender for the drop this season. Still sat at the foot of the National League and coming off the back of a 2-1 loss away at Barnet last time out, Saturday’s guests are in the midst of a three-match losing run in the fifth-tier.

Tip: Chesterfield win and under 4.5 goals @ 11/8

15:00 Ebbsfleet United vs Hartlepool

Putting in arguably a season-best display and picking up a 4-1 win away at Yeovil in the FA Cup in midweek, Hartlepool have continued on what has been a stellar run of form. Now on the verge of breaking into the top-half and some around Durham believing that a shock play-off charge could be on the cards, Craig Hignett’s men have lost just one of their last six matches across all formats and their form on the road has really started to catch the eye. Including their thumping winning away at title challengers Yeovil earlier in the week, Hartlepool have lost just a pair of their last 10 matchups away from the Super 6 Stadium. Enjoying an extended purple patch in the final third, a run that also saw them land a 3-0 win away at Aldershot last month, Saturday’s guests have now scored two or more goals in three of their last four appearances. As for Ebbsfleet, while Gary Hill’s men might be enjoying their brightest run of the season so far, Saturday’s hosts have continued to show some worrying defensive struggles. Shipping a pair of goals against Chesterfield last weekend, the Reds still find themselves sat four points adrift of safety and they have conceded at least a pair of goals in five of their last six National League matchups.

Tip: Hartlepool to score over 1.5 goals @ 5/4
