22nd January: Tuesday Football Accumulator – 16/1

While the weekend’s fixtures might have come to an end, that doesn’t mean we are short of footballing action from across the globe. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Tuesday acca:

Tuesday 22nd January

BST 08:50 Melbourne City vs Western Sydney Wanderers

Starting with the hosts on Tuesday morning, after picking up a point and keeping a clean sheet against league leaders Perth last week, the mood in Melbourne City’s camp will be on a high. Looking to close the gap at the top of the A-League table, Warren Joyce’s side will be excited by the arrival of Western Sydney Wanderers in midweek. The Blues have lost just one of their last 10 league matches at AAMI Park and have also now won the last two meetings against Tuesday’s visitors. Along with now holding the best defensive record in Australia’s top-tier, the former Manchester United reserve team boss should be looking for his side to enjoy a successful 90 minutes in the final third. With the Wanderers coming off the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Adelaide last time out, Markus Babbel’s side have lost their last five league appearances on the bounce. Now freefalling down the table, it has been their form on the road that has been the biggest concern for fans around the Spotless Stadium. Shipping four against Perth in their last match on the road, they have now conceded 10 goals in their last three matches away from home.

Tip: Home win and over 2.5 goals @ 6/4

19:30 Plymouth vs Walsall

Although a very worrying start to the season may have had many tipping Plymouth to face the drop from League One this year, Tuesday’s hosts are enjoying a very bright start to 2019. Coming off the back of another impressive showing in their 2-1 win over Coventry last weekend, Derek Adams’ side are now enjoying a three-match winning run. If the Greens can pick up another win in midweek, they could briefly climb as high as 16th. Yet to be beaten in any competition since Boxing Day, it has been the form of Ruben Lameiras really spearheading the Pilgrims push to safety. Scoring both goals against Coventry on Saturday, the former Tottenham youngster has now bagged six goals in his last four appearances. Given Walsall’s slow start to the New Year, the 25-year-old should be confident of extending his goalscoring tally. While the visitors may have picked up a surprise victory over Gillingham over the weekend, the Saddlers have lost their other three previous outings. Also now winning just one league away match since the start of October, we’re backing Lameiras to find the net on Tuesday night.

Tip: Ruben Lameiras to score anytime @ 12/5

19:30 Yeovil vs Lincoln City

While Lincoln might not have entered the New Year in the fashion that Danny Cowley would have hoped for, Tuesday’s visitors still remain a firm favorite to secure a route out of League Two this season. Picking up a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Grimsby in Saturday’s Lincolnshire derby, the Red Imps hold a three-point buffer at the top of the table. Along with top scorer John Akinde already bagging nine league goals this season, Cowley will be impressed by his sides recent run of form away from Sincil Bank Stadium. Battling to a close fought 2-1 defeat away to Premier League outfit Everton earlier in the month, Lincoln have lost just one of their last six matches on the road. Traveling to Yeovil on Tuesday, the visitors should be confident of extending their advantage at the top of the table. While the Glovers may have picked up back to back wins, they have drastically struggled at home this season. Darren Way’s side have picked up just one win at Huish Park in their last six attempts. Given the gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing Lincoln to come away with the three points on Tuesday.

Tip: Away win @ 1/1
