23rd February: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With the relentless schedule once again opening up in midweek, we have another stacked night on our hands. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday acca, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Tuesday 23rd February

BST 19:00 Sunderland vs Fleetwood Town

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while Sunderland might have been shocked by that 2-1 defeat against Shrewsbury earlier in the month, Lee Johnson’s new squad have bounced back in an eye-catching fashion. Finding a route back into the play-off spots and with a Championship return at the top of their agenda, the former Bristol City boss saw his side put in a thumping display over the weekend. Eventually cruising their way to a 3-0 romp away at Burton on Saturday afternoon, the Black Cats have now won each of their last three matchups across all formats. Smelling another chance when they return to the North East in midweek, Johnson will be hugely excited by Charlie Wyke’s free-scoring purple patch. Enjoying what has been a remarkable run of form, the 28-year-old once again got himself on the scoresheet against Burton over the weekend. With no player in League One bagging more goals than the one-time Bradford striker, Wyke has now found the net in his last three contests on the bounce. Bagging himself six goals on that stunning run, including four goals against Doncaster earlier in the month, it should also be noted Sunderland’s MVP has 13 goals in his last 11 appearances across all formats. Given Fleetwood’s extended issues, Wyke should be smelling a real chance in midweek. Parting ways with former boss Joey Barton, Tuesday’s guests have freefallen their way down the League One table. On a run of form that has seen them win just one of their last 13 straight contests, it should also be noted that the Reds have picked up just a single point from their last five matchups on the road.

Tip: Charlie Wyke to score anytime @ 1/1

19:45 Wealdstone vs Eastleigh

Putting in what was a professional display over the weekend, there is no doubt that the mood in Eastleigh’s camp should be at a continued high. In a showdown against fellow play-off contenders Stockport on Saturday afternoon, the Blues picked up a 1-0 victory on home soil and they have a maiden Football League campaign on their wishlist. Climbing up to fourth in the table, Head Coach Ben Strevens has really seen his side pick up some notable victories since opening February. Knowing that they have a real chance to make it four National League wins on the bounce in midweek, the Hampshire outfit really caught the eye as they picked up a 2-1 win against a high-flying Hartlepool on February 16th. With the chance to potentially leapfrog the Pools on Tuesday night, it should be noted that Eastleigh are unbeaten in each of their last seven fifth-tier matchups on the spin. Collecting a very impressive 17 points on their recent purple patch, Strevens’ side were also last seen on their travels landing a 2-1 victory against Boreham Wood. On the flip side, while Eastleigh might be leading the play-off chase, Wealdstone find themselves still firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Holding just a four-point buffer over the bottom-three, Tuesday’s hosts put in another hugely worrying display over the weekend. Blown away thanks to a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Sutton, the National League debutants have collected just a single point from their last six fifth-tier matchups.

Tip: Eastleigh win @ 6/5

19:45 Luton Town vs Millwall

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, while Millwall might have been disappointed to have had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against Wycombe over the weekend, the Lions have managed to impress over the past month. Finding a route back into the top-half of the table, Gary Rowett’s side are enjoying an eight-match Championship unbeaten run, a run that stems back to the middle of December. With their recent resurge highlighted by what was a 4-1 romp against Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the month, the former Derby boss will also be boosted by his side’s recent displays on the road. Last seen outside of South London picking up an impressive 2-1 victory against play-off contenders Reading, Milwall have collected seven points from their last three Championship away fixtures. While any chance of a late top-six charge might seem a tad out of grasp, Rowett’s men should be smelling a golden chance to extend on their recent unbeaten run in midweek. Along with landing a 2-0 win when they faced off against Luton in the reverse fixture back in October, the Lions are unbeaten in each of their last eight straight meetings against Tuesday’s hosts. On the flip side, hit with a 3-0 drumming against Stoke over the weekend, the Hatters have freefallen their way down the Championship table. Suffering back-to-back defeats over the past week, Nathan Jones’ side have also managed to win just one of their last seven matchups across all formats. Also, continuing to show a string of issues on home soil, Luton could face another stern test when their London rivals visit Kenilworth Road in midweek.
